The song of the week this week is by a great jazz and hip hop band from Chicago called the J. Davis Trio. They are an excellent band and their album, The New No. 2 is fantastic. Go check them out at their site here. Their sound is smooth and laid back jazz with some laid back vocals. I hear they put on a great live show, but have never seen them perform. It’s one I’d like to see.

The j.davis trio is an all live hip-hop/jazz band from Chicago. Drums, bass, trumpet, congas and vibraphone make up the intstrumentation. With the help of alot of great people, the j.davis trio recorded 13 songs and released the debut CD in the fall of ’99. In 2002, the j.davis trio released it’s 2nd full length CD, “The New No. 2″.

Their new album, These Things Happen will be released sometime this year. Without further ado, here is Orange Alert by the J. Davis Trio.
