Getting a teaching gig wouldn't actually mean I'd get to teach. After being in the system and watching it from the inside, it's no wonder our schools are failing. The biggest problems in schools aren't drugs, violence, bullying, etc. The biggest problems are the parents. That's what it comes down to. That makes teachers less effective when the policies of the school are set by their complaints and not by the people who actually, I don't know, have a degree in education. I'm not referring to any specific incident, it's just something I've noticed over the past year. And it'll only get worse. I still think I would love teaching if I could actually teach. Go where you are happy, Mike. That's the best heuristic you can find. In my life, I've found I'm the most happy by going to a place not necessarily where they pay me the most, but where I effect the most change. I hope you have fun!
